Components of a seminar
There are two (2) basic components of a seminar:
Seminar
Report
Seminar
Slide Presentation


What is a Seminar Report?
- A hard copy document.
- Must be signed by the Supervisor.
- Must be bound (spiral or slide).
- Must be in chapters.

This section consists of the following pages:
• Cover Page
• Abstract
• Certification Page
• Dedication
• Acknowledgements
• Table of Contents
• List of Tables

2. Main Pages:
This section consists of the following pages:
• Chapter 1- Introduction
• Chapter 2- Literature Review
• Chapter 3- Seminar Topic
• Chapter 4- Conclusion
3. Post Pages:
This section contains your seminar reference pagesSEMINAR SLIDES
These slides are:
Developed
from the Seminar Report.
A
focused summary.
Prepared
in both soft and hard copies.



Slide Preparation Rules
Professional soft and hard copy presentation
slides must conform to the following rules:
Hard
copy version printed on A4 paper with landscape orientation.
Use
bullets (any style), tables, figures & fewer words.
Tables
& figures in the slides should retain the same titling & numbering as
in the Seminar Report for ease of location by the panelists.
Legible
font type & size.
No slide
animation should be used except where critical.
All the
slides should be numbered except for the Cover Page.

Meet your Supervisor regularly.
Effect all corrections given.
Read widely & thoroughly. Be familiar with the
area.
Rehearse by yourself & with colleagues.
Pace & time yourself.
Dress smartly.
Make eye contact with panellists.
Composed gestures.

The Seminar is mandatory for all 500L students.
It comprises the Report and Slide Presentation.
Both must be reviewed and approved by your
supervisor.
